Passkey (WebAuthn)
Configure passwordless Passkey (WebAuthn) authentication for your AIGCS dashboard.
Passkey allows you to securely sign in using biometric authentication (e.g., Apple Touch ID / Face ID, Windows Hello, Android Fingerprint) or password managers (e.g., Bitwarden, 1Password).
Prerequisites
- Passkey requires a secure context. It will only work over
HTTPSor onlocalhostduring local development. - No external environment variables or server-side configuration are required.
How to Set Up
Step 1: Access Profile Settings
- Log in to your AIGCS dashboard using your email/username and password.
- Click on your avatar at the bottom-left corner of the dashboard sidebar.
- Select Profile Settings from the popup menu.
Step 2: Add Your First Passkey
- Scroll down to the Passkeys card block.
- Click the Add Passkey button.
- Your browser will prompt you to register a passkey. Depending on your platform, you can choose:
- Local Device: Touch ID, Face ID, or Windows Hello.
- Hardware Key: A USB/NFC security key (such as a YubiKey).
- Password Manager: A browser extension like Bitwarden or 1Password.
Step 3: Complete Authentication
- Follow your browser's prompt to verify your biometric identity or configure your password manager.
- Once verified, the passkey will appear in your registered keys list. You can now use it on the login page by clicking Login with Passkey.
Managing Passkey
You can register multiple passkeys for different devices (e.g., one on your phone, one on your laptop, and a hardware key as backup).
To delete a passkey:
- Go to Profile Settings.
- Click Delete next to the specific passkey in the list.
